
During the BRC, students will learn and practice:
Motorcycle familiarization
Starting and stopping
Shifting gears
Turning and cornering
Quick stops
Swerving and obstacle avoidance
Participants must be at least 16 years of age to enroll.
Students under the age of 18 must have written parental consent.
DOT-approved 3/4 or full-face helmet
(Loaner helmets are available)
Long pants with no holes, rips, or tears
Sturdy over-the-ankle footwear
Jacket or long-sleeved shirt
Full-fingered gloves
Protective eyewear
All courses begin promptly at the scheduled time
Please allow ample travel time — there is no grace period
Students who successfully complete the Basic Rider Course will receive a waiver card that allows them to waive the state road skills test.
Upon presenting the course completion card to the license bureau, students may receive their motorcycle endorsement and license.
Indiana does honor Kentucky waiver cards.
